What Is Absolute Black Granite?

Absolute Black Granite (also known as Premium Black or Jet Black Granite) is a dense, fine-grained natural stone quarried mainly in India. It is known for its deep, uniform black colour with minimal to no veining or pattern. Its clean and consistent look makes it highly sought after for both modern and traditional fireplace designs.

Slab hearths or one-piece hearths made from granite, slate, or marble are suitable for electric, gas, bio-ethanol, and bio-electric fires. These appliances produce low levels of heat and do not require expansion joints, making slab hearths ideal.

For stoves, slab hearths can only be used when the stove is not in direct contact with the hearth—for example, if the stove is mounted on legs that are at least 100mm high (depending on its kW output). For maximum heat resistance, porcelain hearths are recommended. They tolerate high temperatures and can be used safely with any stove in any configuration.
